ASSOCIATION UPDATE NPMA PROMOTES DOMiNiquE STuMPf fROM COO TO CEO By Will NEPPER Senior Editor A fter 30 months of considering qualified CEO candidates the National Pest Management Associations NPMAs board of directors recently appointed Dominique Stumpf the associations new leader Formerly NPMAs chief operating officer and before that lead organizer for NPMAs PestWorld Stumpf is a Certified Association Executive CAE and Certified Meeting Professional CMP Stumpf replaces Bob Rosenberg a PMP Hall of Famer who retired in mid March NPMA President Russ Ives made the CEO announcement on Feb 16 immediately following the ratification by NPMAs board of directors According to Ives the NPMA Executive Committee and Succession Planning Committee began the selection process in August 2013 Ives told PMP that the length of time taken allowed the committees to focus on and fine tune what they were looking for when filling NPMAs CEO position Dominiques selection is the result of a very thorough and thoughtful process on the NPMA P3 Summit Set for May The National Pest Management Association NPMA will hold its invitation only P3 Summit Purpose Plan Progress May 18 20 at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables Fla A facilitated strategic planning event the P3 Summit will involve nearly 100 industry professionals including board members from the NPMA the Professional Pest Management Alliance PPMA and QualityPro in addition to the chairs of NPMAs 23 other committees The top priorities of the P3 Summit are to understand the collective needs of NPMAs members identify significant industry challenges refine the associations vision and set its strategic direction With the juxtaposition of an outgoing CEO and board of directors and an incoming CEO and board of directors NPMA currently faces an extraordinarily unique opportunity to build on its historic successes respond to its future challenges take advantage of future opportunities and remain flexible and nimble enough to adapt to changes said NPMA CEO Dominique Stumpf CAE CMP The outcomes of the P3 Summit are exceptionally important for the professional pest management industrys future said former NPMA CEO Bob Rosenberg NPMA PPMA and QualityPro have committed to building upon the discussions that will take place at the P3 Summit Rosenberg added part of the Succession Planning Committee designed to carefully identify the NPMAs needs in a leader and then find a great match Ives said Dominiques familiarity with and passion for our industry the breadth of her exposure to key stakeholder groups her creative and energetic spirit and the respect shes earned from coworkers members and supporters alike uniquely position her to succeed in this new responsibility Chuck Tindol incoming NPMA president and chairman of the Succession Planning Committee addressed how the two and a halfyear process of choosing Stumpf was challenging for her on several levels It was tough because it hung out there for so long Tindol says Its not uncommon for there to be turnover in a leadership change in the association world but our staff really is invested in our industry and enjoy their jobs Tindol said Stumpf helped keep everyone focused during NPMAs CEO selection process Weve had record revenue years recently and increased member 26 April 2016 Pest Management Professional mypmp net
