Whitmore launches fumigation firm Lee Whitmore a 17 year industry veteran launched Quality Pest Services With three locations the Anaheim Calif based company is poised to provide fumigation and heat subcontractor services in the Los Angeles Orange Riverside San Bernardino San Diego Santa Barbara and Ventura County markets Whitmore is a past president of the Pest Control Operators of California PCOC past board member of the National Pest Management Association NPMA and current chair of the PCOC insurance program and the NPMA Public Policy Committee Im truly excited about this new venture he says I look forward to the opportunity to provide top quality service to termite and pest control companies throughout southern California suPPlier uPDate Q1 flurry of supplier acquisition activity Three big announcements were made recently that have a significant impact on the supplier lineup in the pest management industry And thats in addition to ChemChina acquiring Syngenta see Pest Management Professionals March issue p 32 First British firm PelGar International completed its acquisition of AB Bait the sales and marketing group for Brigand rodenticides in the United States The North American business is operating under the PelGar USA brand AB Bait President Andrej Branc has joined PelGar as its North American business manager Then it was announced that Curtis Gilmour completed the acquisitions of both Agrisense Industrial Monitoring and Silvandersson AB These acquisitions join two of Curtis Gilmours other industry interests B G Equipment and Curtis Dynafog AgriSense is known to pest management professionals PMPs for its AgriSense and Trappit product lines and was formerly owned by Suterra LLC Silvandersson meanwhile is the manufacturer of Silvalure and other professional products Cryonite which Silvandersson introduced and recently spun off into Cryonite USA is not part of the acquisition Last but not least news broke in early March that BASF SE parent company of BASF Pest Control Solutions was looking to counterbid on the 130 billion merger plans of DuPont and Dow Chemical see PMPs January issue p 20 The Dow DuPont merger deal has been in the works since December but at press time no further information was available Photo QUALItY PEst sERVICEs mypmp net Pest Management Professional April 2016 31
