Harboring THE ENEMY An office of non compliant employees provided the food for an invading army of house mice The building was put up in the years following 9 11 with several incomplete pipe chases which provided access for mice And with employees who regularly left cookies and candy in and around their desks the invading pests were well fed These critters had found their way into the structure because of the nature of office spaces folks tend to eat at their desks says Joseph Loren A C E vice president of training and operations and staff entomologist for GM Pest Control Fort Lee N J There was a lot of bait competition Theyd come in in the morning open up their desks and the little guys would pop out The office managers had a contract with another company with no success That organizations technicians were coming in and putting down glue boards which the mice simply avoided The problem according to Loren is the buildings substructure The second floor has 145 employees and just below that are storage areas and a delivery ramp that leads into a huge storage facility There is a void between the floor and ceiling between the first and second floors There was a lot of harborage going on in there A park across the street also provided a safe place for mice to live I came out and did an evaluation and decided they needed bait stations with yummy type bait Loren says You couldnt do traditional blocks in that type of environment because of the competition Loren settled on Brigand Soft Bait from AB Bait Co at the suggestion of his supplier Andy Linares president of Bug Off Pest Control Center and put 24 stations around the office building I went around with the facilities manager and put bait stations down everywhere including inside the desk in some places Loren says The reaction was immediate Within 3 4 days I went back again and 17 of the 24 stations had been hit Loren says That gave me a better idea of how to reposition the stations and what wasnt hit I would move around I came back a week later and all the stations had been hit and hit significantly All the bait was gone Loren was stunned by how quickly the mice took to the bait Ive been in the business 30 years Loren says I havent seen that kind of feasting when there was bait competition In those first few days Loren estimates he picked up 20 to 30 mice and in the two months following nearly 60 of the critters The client is thrilled Loren says They think Im a genius Loren suggests other Pest Management Professionals can look good for their clients with Brigand Soft Bait If you havent tried it give it a shot Loren says It doesnt hurt that its less expensive than the bait competition But with results like this it doesnt matter if it was more money Id still get it Loren has already ordered more of the product and has encouraged his technicians to use it as well When I got results I started getting the word out to my people he says 1 610 849 1723 www abbaitco com ADVERTORIAL
