how Arrow environmental services and bayer teamed up to clear condos of unwanted pests J ohn Judge knows that hard work is the key to achieving goals When a friend asked him to join the pest control industry Judge entered the field as a technician and never looked back He worked his way through the ranks completed training and now just 15 years later hes the Tampa Fla branch operations manager for Arrow Environmental Services So when Judge was faced with a tough situation that didnt seem to have a solution backing down was the last thing on his mind One of his top clients a condominium association was overrun with American cockroaches Periplaneta americana and no treatment seemed to be getting rid of them Residents were seeing live American cockroaches in their condos Judge explains We were doing some work inside and tried to exclude them from the condos but we were unsuccessful A tAsk for two The cockroach infestation was so bad that Judge and his team were getting 10 to 12 calls a week about it When nothing they did seemed to eradicate the pests Judge decided to reach out to Bayer for some advice Bayers research and development team has really helped us with issues with some other insects in the past Judge explains He had been working with Bayer for 15 years and knew they would be up for the challenge thinking outside the box Bayer responded to Judges request for help by sending Senior Scientist Dr John Paige to scout the issue Dr Paige knew that previous attempts to treat the cockroaches inside the homes were unsuccessful so he suggested looking outside the box If they could figure out where the cockroaches were coming from they could treat them at the source and yield better results Sure enough after expanding their search to the streets literally the pests were discovered to be living in the sewers We popped all the sewer drains and found thousands upon thousands of American cockroaches living inside the drains Judge says It was an older area of town where the sewer pipes had settled and you had some space in between the pipes where they were working their way from the sewer drain all the way up into the condos Once it was revealed that the cockroaches were living in the sewers and coming up through the pipes at night Judge and his team placed Maxforce Impact Roach Gel Bait around the lids of the sewers Baiting where the cockroaches were congregating meant hitting the most cockroaches while using the least amount of bait Promising results Judge reports that the treatment worked like a charm Three weeks after baiting with Maxforce Impact 95 percent of the cockroach population was gone Calls dropped from 10 to 12 per week to 1 to 2 per month Judge was so pleased with Bayers customer service and effective product that hes added Maxforce Impact to his rotation for cockroach control He doesnt hesitate to recommend the product to other pest management professionals PMPs Bayer saved our 30000 account in a sense Judge acknowledges I thank Bayer for everything theyve done for us ADVERTORIAL The impact of collaboration backedbybayer com pest management maxforce roach
