Supplier update Nisus success is built on connecting to customers R elationships Its what Lee Barrett Nisus Corp division vice president pest control domestic and international says Lee Barrett he believes to be the asset that sets the company apart from others He says the Rockford Tenn based manufacturer does not see relationships as something created to grow sales but rather Nisus develops relationships to help pest management professionals PMPs build their businesses But that kind of customer growth fosters more growth for Nisus both internationally and domestically Everyone at Nisus knows that for us to continue growing business we have to listen to what our customers issues are and see if we can find a way to solve them Barrett says We refer to it as the process working with customers to determine what the current issues in the field are from both a pest control standpoint and internally from a technical standpoint Barrett offers the Nisus DominAnt bait station as an example of the process working with customers to develop solutions Technicians told us that having to cut open the bait stations with scissors or a knife was a hassle Barrett says So when we designed the station we made it so they could simply snap it open Those products and processes include sprayers foamers and misters as well as products developed for mold prevention which have become especially popular in southern areas of the U S ravaged in recent years by flooding Nisus Corp s Bora Care with Mold Care product kills and prevents mold wood decay fungi and wood destroying organisms WDO When there is flooding in areas like Baton Rouge the pest companies in those areas are some of the only ones qualified to protect the wood in these homes after a flood Barrett says So Nisus has to be on the ground in the flood damaged areas very quickly to provide training and work with distribution to provide product Other Nisus products also have enjoyed growing success One example is the TrueTech line of sprayers foamers and misters which had the second largest product launch in Nisus company history right behind the launch of the companys new Foam Fresh Bio Remedial Odor Control Aerosol Foam Barrett credits this growth and success in part to adding PMP Hall of Famer Greg Baumann Class of 2013 to the team as Nisus Corp s head of regulatory and technical service Among Baumans industry credentials is a 17 year stint with the National Pest Management Association NPMA His background with food plants NPMA working with government agencies and in pest control make Greg a tremendous asset Barrett says Where the future is concerned Barrett says Nisus has several exciting products in development for 2017 but as with any new product launch details cant be discussed beforehand What he can say however is that the companys goal will continue to be helping pest companies in as many of their service segments as possible For example PMPs who have a heavy focus on commercial kitchens helped spur the development of the TrueTech line of equipment and a Commercial Kitchen Protocol which uses the companys Nibor D insecticide DSV disinfectant sanitizer and virucide Bac Azap bioremedial and odor control and ProFoam Platinum foaming agent We consider working with the people in this industry a great privilege Barrett concludes And we know we must earn that privilege every day so our people in the field and our technical staff always work to bring products and processes to PMPs that foster growth 42 October 2016 Pest Management Professional mypmp net
